I have say that person is completely wrong.
However~ It's only a joke

Parents spent a lot of money, they work hard.

That's a good enough reason for you to study hard.
Meanwhile, there are other reas##被过滤##.

If you study not for youself but for your parents... ...you can't enjoy your time and life, can you?
It is a very important reason , but I don't think it is the most important one

I want to go back to China after my studies, but my parents don't want me to go back.

Why they don't want you come back??Do they think you can get a better life at here??
I can't say your parents are wrong...but I prefer living in China ,and I am Chinese 4ever

Maybe they prefer the generally higher salary in the UK.

But you will feel quite lonely, though salary is higher, the job is difficult as well

Yeah, I am just not happy about the food and it is boring as well.

I quit the job, and I have booked the ticket, flying in 3 days' time.
No, i can't tell my parents.
I am going to live in my investor's home, I am doing business with him.
