First, congratulati##被过滤##! Engineering is a star subject in Southampton University.
Second, do not be nervous. Interview is not an examination. I believe you have received the conditional offer already. The interview is the last step of recruitment. Interview is a good chance for you and the professor to meet and chat. They may just want to confirm that you can understand English and you can express your ideas.
I attended my interview Setember 2007 in Nightingale Building. I was busy on my dissertation on that time and I prepared nothing for the interview. The worse was I was late. You can not imagine how terrible the situation it was. However, I did explain why I was last, hundreds reas##被过滤##. I do not remember what she asked and what I replied. Well, just simple questi##被过滤##. The interviewer is a very kind lady and now she is my first superviour. There is one question you can prepare now. 'Why you choose ....department of Southampton University?'
I do agree you can say 'I do not know' when you really know nothing about the question. However, try to extend your answer. Say anything related to the topic, say everything in your brain to show your knowledge. There is no wrong answers. You needn't to be the expert on the field. As they invited you to the interview, you already have strong academic background and you already meet their requirement. Just be confident
The last thing I want to remind you is 'do not be late'. I lost myself last year on my interview. I believe they sent you the map, route and detailed information on how to get to the right position. Look at it before you go!
Good luck and welcome to Southampton University! |
