Many students work part time during their studies, to help towards their living costs, gain experience and also to meet new people.
Most full-time international students are legally allowed to work for up to 20 hours a week during term time and full-time during vacations. The minimum wage in the UK for workers aged 22 and older is £5.52 per hour and £4.60 per hour for workers aged 18 – 21.
Part- time work is a useful source of income but it is important not to rely on this as not all students manage to secure a part-time job and you need to make sure that it doesn’t affect your studies.
