ABOUT Pre-Sessional English Course!!!

急急急！请有上过 华威 5周或10周 学前语言课程 的学姐学长 帮忙回答。

我的情况是这样的：

已拿到WBS的MSc Information System & Management专业的Conditional Offer，要求IELTS 7.0，我的IELTS成绩是6.5，其中作文只有5分。这样子么肯定要参加学校的Pre-Sessional English Course，但还不确定是5周还是10周。

有几个问题：

1.请问这个课程难吗？过程紧张吗？而且是否真的有效，使英语能力和学习技巧得到较大的提升？

2.学校网站上说课程结束之后，需要参加WELT考试，必须达到与要求的IELTS成绩相当的WELT成绩，才能开始正式的硕士课程，否则就被退学回家了。请问这个期末考试难通过吗？一个班的通过率有多少？

我也是准备去读8月17号的5周pre-sessional course.

关于这个课程，大家可以去上网站看它的HANDBOOK，PDF格式下载的。

这个课程分为2种，一种是6月多到8月15号结束的，PHASE 1。 一种是 8月16号到9月多结束的PHASE2。

PHASE1 教授课程里有听说读写。 最后要考试，就是WELT。必须通过才能进入下一步学习。

PHASE2 主要是论文怎么写，资料如何查找，报告如何做。最后考核是一个PROJECT，一个PREZETATION，一个READING TEST。

如果你的专业要求你最后再考一个华威测试，那么你还得要考，具体需要问你们专业的负责人。

At the end of Phase 1, there will be an informal WELT practice test, and
during the phase, there will be some further small reading and grammar tests to
help you to remember the things you have been studying.

In Phase 2, a programme of lectures is organised, some of which are given by
outside speakers from other departments. These help you to develop your note-
taking skills. A library visit will be arrangedfor you earlyon in Phase2.
In addition to the above, you may be required to take the Warwick English
Language Test (WELT) at the end of your course. Please check carefully on
your offer letter to see if it will be necessary for you top do WELT. If you are
unsure, please contactyour group tutor or theCourse Director immediately.
