经过跟学校的多次交涉，^_^。。。学校终于放松口气，以下是他们给我的答复。

There are specfic technical problems that we are working on to get VPN to work. MSN Messenger will only work for chat - this is due to the nature of the network and there is nothing that we can do about it.

However if you use Yahoo messenger we have verfied that this does work for Voice, Video and File Transfer.

VPN就是virtual private network,虚拟专用网。多半是指在公共网络中通过的加密的方式建立保密的连接。多半是狂慢的，因为所有传输的数据都要加密解码.......

the bad news it that u can only use the vpn with l2tp, or else it dose not work.

For the route table and some other configuration of the network only permit the passive mode.

我也遇到相同的情况。但是我跟bancraft的flatmate就可以视频，结果跟家里人就不行，他们说没有收到邀请。真是不知道到底怎么回事
