The Choir of King’s College Cambridge is coming to Shanghai this summer. The Choir owes its existence to King Henry VI, who established it in 1441. The acoustic effect of the King’s Chapel, the boy Choristers’ unique voice, and the British choir’s artistic style all constitute to the long-lasting charm of the ensemble. Besides performing in UK, the choir also went out to Europe, America, South America, Australia and Asia. They have recorded a lot of CDs under Decca and EMI label. Their high-quality interpretation of Palestrina and Byrd of the Renaissance, Haydn and Handel of Braque, and Mozart, Rossini and Berlioz of the Classics, as well as Kodaly and Britten, all have been very well received. The choir owns its extensive discography to their director, Stephen Cleobury, who always persues artistic innovation, and who contributed a lot to the success of the choir. The theme of their Shanghai concert is music and nature, where you can find the tranquility of summer.

　　　　该团由英国国王亨利六世于1441年在剑桥大学创立，正是得益于剑桥国王学院礼拜堂的建筑声效，清一色的男童编制也赋予了其独一无二的音感，加之其深深植根于英国唱诗班的艺术风格，成为该团最大的魅力。剑桥大学国王学院合唱团的天籁美声除了驻留于古典圣洁的教堂之外，也传遍了欧洲、美国、南美、澳洲和亚洲等全世界各个角落。唱片方面，在Decca和EMI录制了数量庞大的唱片， 从文艺复兴时期的伯德、帕莱斯特里那，到巴洛克时期的海顿、亨德尔，再到古典时期的莫扎特、罗西尼、柏辽兹，到柯达伊、布里顿等，无论演唱水准和音乐质量都获得一致好评。这一切要归功于自1983年以来成为该团指挥大师的斯蒂芬•克里欧贝瑞将自己不断求新的艺术理念注入乐团中，也使得乐团的曲目包罗万象。此次访沪演出将以自然与音乐的主题，与您一同期待夏日的静谧
