When does Switzerland start issuing Schengen-Visa? When will Switzerland start operative Schengen cooperation (SAA)?
The Federal Council decision of May 30, 2008, is a confirmation of the council’s intention to begin operative Schengen cooperation possibly still this year, that is possibly on December 5 or 6, 2008. However, this date is subject to approval by the European Council, probably in November 2008. Approval depends on the favorable outcome of the current Schengen evaluation of Switzerland’s performance. If the evaluation is favorable, Swiss diplomatic representati##被过滤## will be authorized to issue Schengen visas from December 5 or 6, 2008.
