The courses equip you with:
abilities and skills relevant to problem solving and process enhancement in business
critical evaluation skills in relation to methods used in problem solving and process enhancement
skills in working in groups and independently on a project
Part 1 of the programme provides a solid grounding for all three courses in effective skills and knowledge in the use of computing/IT, and of Management Sciences modelling/statistical analysis. You need not choose your specialist course until you have completed Part 1. Part 2 contains the modules necessary for your specialist course, plus the required number of opti##被过滤##. You also undertake a project.
As well as benefiting from your interaction with experienced staff, you will also find that this programme provides excellent opportunities for forming syndicate groups and networking with other course members. The balance between structured teaching and self-managed learning will also give you scope to develop your own interests and broaden your study to areas outside the formal structured teaching.
To be eligible for the award of MSc you must successfully complete all Part 1 modules, the taught programme for your chosen field of study, and a project. To be eligible for the award of a Postgraduate Diploma you must successfully complete all Part 1 modules, and four Part 2 modules including all the named modules in your chosen field of study.
This course develops your understanding of and ability to use the modern computing/IT tools which will improve your efficiency as a decision maker. It will enable you to comprehend and exploit the role and capability of information systems in achieving strategic advantage. For this course, you must take first semester modules in eBusiness System Interacti##被过滤##, Systems Thinking and Decision Making, Developing Information Systems, Introduction to Computer Programming and either Management Sciences Techniques or Statistical Analyses in Business. In the second semester, you must take modules in Relational Database Systems, Strategic Advantage and Information Technology, and an option.
