另外封邮件:- Hello everyone,
- Well done for getting a place on the Isle of Wight 2012 café cycle trip! We’re really pleased that you’re joining us and we hope you’re looking forward to it as much as us! The trip is full up now, the places went really fast this year! Please read all of this email, as it's ALL really important.
- Cycling
- It is very important that you are happy to do a lot of cycling on the weekend, as we will cover a lot of miles. If you have any questions about the cycling ability needed for this trip, please talk to Pete Booth (07845 957185).
- The plan
- We will set off very early on Saturday (April 21st) from here. We will confirm the exact time nearer the event, but it will be really early, so make sure you’re in Southampton for the night before! We will cycle to the ferry port and catch a ferry to the beautiful Isle of Wight. During the day we will do a lot of cycling, stopping for breaks along the way. We will enjoy dinner and a fun evening together when we reach the guest house, where we will spend Saturday night. The guest house is run by Christians, and is on the south of the island. On Sunday morning we will have our very own church meeting together at the guest house, where you’ll be able to see what Christians do on a Sunday. We will then cycle back up the other side of the island, stopping for lunch, and then getting the ferry back to Southampton Sunday evening. We will arrive back to where we started around 9:00pm on Sunday.
- Most of you don’t own a bike (and indicated this on the form), we will provide you with a bike and helmet at no extra cost.
- If you're using your own bike (and indicated this on the form):
- Please bring your own helmet if you have told us you own one - this is compulsory.
- Please make sure your bike is in good working order (brakes, gears and chain-set, tyres and tubes etc.) - If you need help with this then please email bikes@sucu.org.uk.
- Please bring your own lights (front and back).
- The two routes: You do not need to know whether you're doing the 'Xtreme' route or 'Fun' route at this stage. We will cycle together for the first few miles once on the island, and then split off into the two groups, so you can decide then.
- What to bring: This all needs to fit in a small rucksack, as you will be carrying it for two days.
- Packed lunch for Saturday (there are no places to buy food, so you must bring it!)
- Shampoo, toiletries and spare clothes (jeans are not very nice to cycle in)
- Rain coat in case it rains
- Sun cream
- Camera if you have one
- Lots of water
- Snacks
- A smile all weekend :)
- Health related issues: If you have any dietary requirements or health conditions which you forgot to tell us about and could affect you during the weekend, then please reply explaining what it is, just so that we are aware of it. For example, asthma, pork-free diet etc
- I don't understand!: If you're confused by any of this, or have any other questions, then please email back, or phone John T. Sparrow 07871 936551.
- The weekend is going to be so much fun, and something you will remember for years to come! It’s officially going to be ‘the best weekend away of 2012’!
- We will email you again nearer the time, that’s all for now :)
- Cycle trip team
- Here’s a video from a last year to get you excited!
