关于推荐信的写作

　　对于直接申请入读国外院校学士学位及更高学历课程的学生，院校一般要求学生提供1-2封推荐信（某些美国院校甚至要求3封）。这是对你学习、工作科研能力的一种证明和认可。当然，推荐信最好找与你熟悉，对你了解的教授、领域或有权威的人士、学者为你撰写，这样对你的能力和特点的强有力的证明将会在联系过程中具有极大的说服力，为你获得奖学金产业重大影响。几封推荐信最好侧重点不同，分别从几个方面介绍你的特点。切记，推荐信不可只是空洞的夸奖和称赞之辞，一定要有具体事例才会可信，有说服力。由于所找教授工作比较繁忙，往往不可能有充浴的时间为你单独撰写推荐信，你可以采取自己撰写草稿，由教授审阅通过、签字或盖章的方式。

Dear Sir/Madam, 　

　I write to recommend most warmly one of my best students, Miss XXX to forward her graduate study in your institution. As I understand, she wishes to enter your Master and then Ph D programs in Civil Engineering, Bridge Engineering and highway Engineering. She was active at all of them. Her interest in Transportation Engineering stroke me most.

　I find that she has read many books and English Journals in Transportation Engineering. Her background in this field is strong. Because of her exceptional abilities, I agreed that she could join 2 SRT (Student Research Training) Programs. One is under the direction of Mr. Lu Huapu, in which she did the research work about Traffic Flow Theories. The other is my project, the Planning of the Campus. SRT is a special program for the excellent undergraduate students in Tsinghua University. in both of the projects she works best, and gets high remarks from Mr. Zhang and me. In fact, she has been a very good R.A. during her undergraduate study.

　In my judgement, she proficient at English speaking. In April, I recommended to be a translator at the '97 Beijing International Conference on ITS and she performed very well. As her advisor, I know her quite well, thus I hope that my evaluation of her can assist your c##被过滤##ideration of her application. I would not hesitate to recommend her to your excellent programs.
