Traveling to University of Hertfordshire

Airports : The University of Hertfordshire is in the south of the UK. There are a number of airports within traveling distance of the University, which handle international flights, these include London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Stanstead and Luton airports. There are other airports in the south of the UK which deal with International flights, but if you intend to fly into one of these you should contact the International Office international@herts.ac.uk for advice and detailed travel information.
Seaports : Some students traveling from the EU or from Eastern Europe may arrive in the UK by sea. The main seaports in the south of the UK are Harwich, Dover, Folkstone, Portsmouth and Southampton.

If you intend traveling to the UK and to the University of Hertfordshire by sea and road (car) you should check with your travel agent where you will be landing. By car from the ports of the south coast you would normally need to travel towards London until you reach the M25 motorway travel round this to reach the A1 motorway, and follow the directi##被过滤## for travel from London to the University by car.
Train : The main line station at Hatfield is on the London to Peterborough line see http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/natrail/fs_natrail.htm for a detailed map of the UK rail network in the South-East. Hatfield station is between Finsbury Park and Welwyn Garden City. You can also travel to St Albans station, which is on the main line between Bedford and Brighton. This is a particularly useful service useful if you land at either Luton or Gatwick airport
Coach or Bus : The UK highspeed coach service, National Express, operates on routes between main cities in the UK, see http://www.gobycoach.com/ for details of coach services which stop at Hatfield. What to do and Where to go when you Arrive at the University
The University of Hertfordshire is based on two large semi-rural campuses in Hatfield and one campus in the adjacent town of St Albans (The Law Faculty). If you have booked accommodation in a University Student Residence, you will live at either Hatfield Main Campus or Hatfield DeHavilland Campus – there is no University Student Residences at the St Albans Campus. If you are traveling to the University independently and have booked University accommodation, on arrival you must go to the Accommodation Office on the Hatfield Main Campus to complete your booking and collect your keys. The Accommodation Office is accessed via the Bishops Rise entrance at the rear of the Hatfield Main Campus – see campus map.
