其实最好的方法是去问学校，他们会给你详细的信息的。我收到的是EE的MSc by Research的offer，我去信问了这个专业的情况，我将秘书答复我的邮件的内容给贴出来吧，希望对你能有点点帮助。

Thank you for your email. Each student should carry out research in a project of appropriate academic content for a full time duration equivalent of 8 months. The MSc dissertation must be submitted within 12 months of the registration date. All students undertaking the MSc by research in Electronics are required by the Department to complete a series of transferable skills courses, together with courses which might help fill gaps in their background knowledge for the research project topic. The choice of courses will be made together with the Supervisor, at registration. Each student must register for course work comprising of a transferable skills element of 30 hours. They may also take up to 90 hours of course work taken from 3rd and/or 4th year lecture courses offered by the Department of Electronics which is research specific. The overall balance of studies is to be c##被过滤##idered appropriate by the Board of Studies for a MSc by research degree in Electronics. At the beginning of the academic year the Graduate Schools Board meets to assess and approve (where appropriate) the lecture course selection of each student. I hope this helps.
