Final year
In your final year, you will be able to select from a range of seminar courses, each consisting of 10 two-hour meetings. You will also undertake a supervised research project. This is an opportunity to carry out a piece of original psychological research and is, for many students, one of the most valuable experiences of their time here.
The final year project is the culmination of your practical training, developing through practice your knowledge and understanding of the problems and complexities of conducting empirical research. Following the model of an apprenticeship, research projects are usually undertaken in pairs with a supervisor supporting.
Research projects may only be conducted on topics that a member of staff is prepared to supervise. Towards the end of the previous academic year, the School will circulate a list of topics each member of staff is prepared to supervise and you will be asked to indicate the members of staff with whom you would prefer to work.
