An £8 million project to extend the Hartley Library has now begun, to provide twenty-first century facilities. The aim is to create a modern research and learning environment for hybrid print and electronic collecti##被过滤##. The study environment will be improved by expanding networked access throughout the Library, by modernizing seating and introducing more group study rooms, and by upgrading the decoration,lighting and furnishing.
In addition the Special Collecti##被过滤## will be improved to provide a new public exhibition area. This has attracted a grant of £1 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The project will also create a major new landscaped open space on the east side of the campus.
The building itself will be 'green' using an innovative system for controlling the internal temperature and quality of environment, and advanced lighting controls to make efficient use of the lighting. Completion of the project is scheduled for November 2003.作者: Kevin 时间: 2003-5-8 05:20
